Some crazing on white border around score reels and white'Magic City' lettering, but this does not detract from the stunning look of the machine. I actually thought it was by design! The machine has been recently professionally serviced and plays very well and fast.
This is listed as one of the top 6 electromechanical pinball machines of all time in Harry McKeown's respected "Pinball Portfolio" book. The main feature of the game demands a combination of rollover and target accuracy to light the lights above "Magic City". Above the "Magic City" lights is another row of lights providing a spot-light feature. When "Magic City" is lit the outside exit rollovers light to award "Special".Lighting the Star between "Magic" and "City" lights the two bottom outside rollovers for "Special" and the blue thumper bumper for 100pts instead of 10pts. Red bumpers are lit to give 10pts instead of 1pt by centre target or top button. The cunning position of that bumper between the flippers makes for some feverish heart-in-the-mouth play.
The ball can fly behind the bumper and after some frenzied smashing around, make a devastating re-entry onto the playfield or a crushing exit.
