Bally KISS / SPACE INVADERS (and other games!) Pinball Transformer 100% STERN

  

KISS, SPACE INVADERS, FUTURE SPA (and many other compatible games --- see notes below). Bally Pinball Transformer & Rectifier Board. You will see in the pictures all the correct voltages are present and working 100%. Header Connectors J1 & part J3 have been replaced as these often burn out from the General Illumination circuits best to upgrade the GI lamps to LED's.

Saves energy bills and prevents damage. The Transformer is currently wired for UK 240V but can be easily changed to EU 220V OR USA 115V - see schematic pic table showing the options...

This unit was used in the above 3 games specifically Kiss, Space Invaders, Future Spa but can be used also in all previous games that used the AS-2518-18 Rectifier. This board has 9 pins at J1 (8 on the -18 board) as J1/7 & J1/9 are joined to split the output current to "Switched Lamps" to try and prevent the pins burning out which was a common fault on the -18 board.

With a -18 board game you just install J1 using Pin 1 to 8 as normal. The 2x large Output transistors were a small current and voltage upgrade compared to the -18 board as Kiss, Space Invaders and Future Spa had more controlled lamps. So it's just a better/stronger rectifier and transformer but FULLY backward compatible. It is also compatible with STERN games using the TA-100 Rectifier Board & 16-B Transformer.

Same header connectors / pinout except this boards J1 connector has 9 pins instead of 8 but all you do is connect your connector on Pin 1 to 8 (ignore pin 9). STERN just used a different mounting bracket but if you can't find one this unit will work just fine. Heavy box at circa 7.5Kgs so rather expensive to post / courier.
