Zaccaria Robot pinball machine 1985 - Fully Working. Great mid 80's Zaccaria machine, good playfield, has had some touch-ups and then been mylared so wear shouldn't be much of a problem in the future.
The plastics are good, nice and colourful and no fade. The backglass and inner plastic artwork are good, there is some very minor marks on the backglass but nothing to note. The cabinet has had some touch ups, but quite presentable, it's very good structurally. The displays are all good, nice and bright with no warm up issues.
The game plays really good and fast. The rubbers have all been changed, all of the bulbs work. The game has a remote battery pack fitted so there should not be any leakage in the future. There is a lock fitted, and has 2 keys, the coin door has a twist lock fitted that doesn't need keys, there is a photocopied manual included, and the machine is set to free play. I have also PAT and leakage current tested the machine which passed ok, so you shouldn't get any nasty shocks from the metalwork! This really is a great game and really quick, I don't think it's particularly easy so it keeps you coming back, the 5 robots that rise from the playfield (see photo 5) are a good feature which is achieved by getting the ball over the robot bridge. The artwork is typical Zaccaria, really jazzy with colours that Bally weren't allowed to use because of the lead in the paint, so it looks very bright compared to Bally's of the same era. The sound effects are also of the era with robotic voices. All of the coils have loads of power in them which makes for a fast game. This machine has definitely had a life and it has been touched up on the playfield and the cabinet but it's a real unusual game to find and it's real fun to play. I wouldn't think there's too many of these about nowadays. I also do full or partial restorations on any pinball 1977 or later, even the real odd and obscure makes, plus board repairs, some boards I can do on my rig, some I need the full machine it depends. I don't tend to do electro-mechanical's (pre 1976) mainly due to how time consuming they are, but have done a few in the past, so feel free to ask. The pinball is quite large and heavy but the backbox can be folded, and the legs come off, so it should fit in an Escort van sized vehicle upwards, and I will help you load also.
