Super Rare Penny Amusement Arcade Machine. Vintage Italian Tiro Al Gettone with artwork by Adriano Nardi. I bought this in Italy and brought it back with me a year ago. Viewing is possible by prior arrangement, but no tyre kicking - this is stored at my parents house and there is a rescue dog, its not in a shop or somewhere easy to come in and out at will any day or time.

Currently dry-stored in a well-ventilated and insulated shed, under cover with desiccants to avoid any issue with moisture. I often work in this shed so it gets constant airflow and there is no damp.

I want this gone because it is taking up too much space and I need to store tools. The machine is a Tiro Al Gettone, which literally means, throw the token. This is the Italian equivalent of many of the penny amusements youd see on Brighton pier or Weston Super Mare.

If you go to Milan or anywhere in Italy you will still find amusements like this in operation using the gettone (tokens) on their fun-fairs. It is rare but the concept is still used in penny arcades now.

This past week I went to Weston and on the Grand Pier there are machines using the same concept - you aim a coin, it rolls down the playfield and you try to hit the right target at the back. Those newer ones have a revolving playfield and spit out tokens though the gameplay is very much the same.

It is based on the Cobra pinball machine, and the artwork is lifted almost directly. It was by Adriano Nardi.

The purpose of the game is to aim and roll the token to the targets and hit the target when it is lit by the bulb. If you get all the letters of SPECIAL then you win a prize token. The machine has the same form factor as a pinball machine but is much smaller. It does not easily dismantle and I dont recommend you try.

It has an incredibly short mains cable, but is wired with a fuse with a British plug, and runs from the mains. After moving you may find that bulbs may need replacing, and the leaf switches may need attention.
